OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kaseya, a provider of IT automation software, has released a new software module that supports remote access and control of power management settings.
The Kaseya User State Management add-on module gives IT professionals and managed service providers the ability to remotely manage desktops, including powering on and off computers or putting them in sleep mode.
The module also gives the ability to control when computers go to sleep or off. Managers can create and deploy corporate policies for power settings to various computers as well as deploy usage policies for printers.
"Kaseya's ability to integrate power management policies with the rest of the systems management framework gives us the ability to efficiently monitor, maintain, backup, secure and now regulate power of any computer--regardless of its physical location or whether it is in use, in sleep mode or turned off," said Susan Labandibar, president and CEO of Tech Networks of Boston.
Huzzah conservation
I really like the topic of this post. Good job. I fully support conservation. I can't leave the house without running around and turning off my lights. I think it's pretty smart to be able to power down computers from across the globe.
I do the same thing except that I use remote control software from Proxy Networks. There are others as well that might do the same thing but I like this one because the receiving computer doesn't need to "allow" you on to it. Now if there was only a way to turn your stove off from a restaurant. Hmm...
