Green Power Analysis Tool 2.0
By ClimateBiz Staff
October 1, 2004

Developed in partnership with the World Resources Institute, this tool is designed to help environmental and facility managers make decisions about purchasing and using green energy. The free online tool consists of Microsoft Excel-based spreadsheets, which allow managers to assess the financial characteristics of green-power projects as well as the contribution those projects would make on corporate environmental goals related to clean air and climate change.

The tool quantifies reduced carbon-dioxide, nitrogen-oxides, and sulfur-dioxide emissions and calculates the cost of achieving those reductions in standard metrics. Users can input data or learn more about green power by exploring several demonstration projects.

Version 2.0, released in September 2004, includes a workbook for calculating emissions reductions from direct use landfill gas projects.

Download the tool from the Green Power Market Development Group’s Web site.
